Chamber looking at ways to encourage shopping local

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is looking for ways to get more people to shop local. The chamber is discussing starting a Chamber Bucks program. Customers would purchase Chamber bucks from the organization and then be able to spend them at participating businesses.

Local travel agents attend S.T.A.R Awards

Local travel agents, Beth and John Mills of Travel by Beth and independent agent of Island Bridal Travel in St. Joseph, attended the Sandals Resort International’s 2012 S.T.A.R. Awards, Sandals Travel Agency Recognition, in Nassau, Bahamas.

Expo to take place on March 17

On Saturday, March 17,  area residents have the opportunity to attend the fourth annual St. Joseph Community Health Fair and Business expo.

This year the expo will be held on the same day as the St. Joseph Antique Show at St. Joseph Middle School. Admission will be charged.

Store offers gently used prom dresses

    Becky VanDeventer just wants to help some young ladies out this prom season.

    The owner of The Clothes Horse consignment shop in LeRoy. VanDeventer is making a plea for former “gently worn” prom dresses to be resold to customers as a discounted consignment cost.
