Storytime with Santa to take place Dec.6
The event will take place Thursday, Dec. 6 at Prince of Peace Church in St Joseph.
 It begins at 6:30 p.m. and it is free.  The St. Joseph Women’s Club would like toiletry items and non-perishable items brought in to be donated for the local food pantry. Santa will sing songs with the kids, and they will each get a chance to sit on his lap.  There are games, prizes, cookies and milk/juice for the children to enjoy. The event is for ages one year to fourth grade. Parents should bring a camera to take photos of their child with Santa.

St. Joseph Women’s club to do Angel Tree
The St. Joseph Women’s Club will be conducting its annual Angel Tree event. The tree was put up on Nov. 19 at the St.  Joseph Apothecary.  
The group will be assisting 11 families with gifts and/or holiday meal.  
The deadline for the Angel Tree gifts to be returned to the Apothecary is Saturday, Dec. 15.  They are to be unwrapped with the ornament and gift receipt included. The Church of Christ will be wrapping the gifts on Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Local churches to hold Christmas Eve services
The Broadlands United Community Church and the Ogden United Methodist Church will be holding special Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24. The Ogden service will take place at 5 p.m. and the Broadlands service will take place at 7 p.m.

Blood drive to be held Dec. 6 in Homer
The Homer United Methodist Church will be holding a blood drive on Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. The drive will go until 7:30 p.m. Please eat before giving blood and bring a photo I.D.

Santa to visit Ogden Rose Library on Dec. 8
Santa Claus will be at the Ogden Rose Library on Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. Children can meet Santa, read Christmas stories and do Christmas crafts. Each child will receive an ornament.

Christmas Baazar to take place Dec. 8
The event will take place 7 a.m. to noon at the Church of Christ in St. Joseph. There will be an all you can eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for $5. Lori Kay Paden will hold a bootcamp class at 7 a.m. There will be vendors including apparel, Christmas crafts and jewelry.  Donations will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Homer library to hold events this month
The Homer library will host a movie matinee on Dec.12 at 1 p.m. The movie shown will be “Jane Eyre.”
On Dec. 21 the library will show “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid” at 7 p.m. On Dec. 28 the library will be holding a special event called “Set Yer Sails For the Library.” There will be pirate themed crafts and games.
