The St. Joseph-Ogden girls basketball team finished third in the Sangamon Valley Conference tournament.
The Spartans were trying to defend their conference title, but fell to top seed in the tournament and Class 2A St. Thomas More in the semifinals.
SJO edged host Iroquois West 48-46 in the opening round behind a balanced attack.
Emily Dunlap, Ashley and Kate Landis and Tori Master all scored nine points for the Spartans. SJ-O held a 31-27 advantage after three quarters and held on for the win.
In the semifinals, the Sabers jumped out to a 24-9 lead after the opening quarter, winning 65-33.
Bailey Trimble led the Spartans with 10 points and knocked down a 3-pointer along with Kate Landis.
In the third-place game at Parkland College, SJO downed Paxton-Buckley-Loda 53-37. St. Thomas More beat Watseka 66-38 in the championship game.
The Spartans will host Iroquois West on Thursday in their final home game of the year before playing three straight on the road to wrap up the regular season.
